PRR F41 Flatcar

$43.00

Pennsylvania’s F41 flatcars were completed in the road’s Altoona, PA car shops.  The body castings had numerous differences from the standard GSC design, including a different side profile, and substantially different shapes of the car ends.  PRR built the first 500 F41 cars in 1955-56 as PRR 469500-469999. 200 more F41s were completed in 1956 as PRR 469300-469499.  The F41 cars were painted in the road’s “shadow keystone” scheme with “Pennsylvania” spelled out across the carbody, but no logo.  These first two groups of cars rode on 70-ton plain bearing ASF A-3 trucks.  Some cars received roller bearing trucks in the Conrail era, as seen on the prototype photo of PRR 469745.

3D-printed resin kit with laser cut wood decks.

Kit does not include trucks, couplers, or decals.  Provisions for mounting air hoses and Tangent uncoupling levers (neither are included) are provided.

Decals and lettering are shown for informative purposes only and are not included.

Special thanks to Mike from Custom Model Depot for producing the laser cut decks.

Also, special thanks to John Frantz from Mount Vernon Shops for producing the decals for these cars. PRR, PC, and CR decals are available (click on the desired roadname!)
